How much and how long is the course?
Our ELDT course pricing varies depending on the CDL class or endorsements you’re after, course duration, and feature availability. See full pricing here. The courses are self-paced, so you can complete them as quickly or slowly as you need. Most students complete them within 2–4 weeks (1–2 days for ELDT-only courses). Depending on the plan you’ve purchased, the program is valid for an entire month or three months, so you can take your time and review the material as many times as you need.
How and when can I start the course?
You’ll get access to the course immediately after purchase. You’ll have full instant access to both modules, including the Passing Probability, Cheat Sheets, and Exam Simulators.
How and when will I get my certificate of completion?
Once you’ve completed the course, we’ll immediately submit your ELDT theory completion certificate to the FMCSA’s Training Provider Registry. We’ll also send you a notification on the website and by email. You’ll be able to see your ELDT theory completion certificate on the TPR website here.
I’ve passed your ELDT course, but I still don’t have my certification. What do I do?
Once you’ve completed the course, we’ll immediately submit your ELDT theory completion certificate to the FMCSA’s Training Provider Registry. We’ll also send you a notification on the website and by email. If that hasn’t happened, please check your Passing Probability page to be sure you’ve completed all elements of the course and your Passing Probability is 85% or more. Also, check your state page for any notifications there.
The DMV says my ELDT cannot be found or is incomplete. What do I do?
Once you’ve completed any of our ELDT courses, we send your completion certificate to the federal Training Provider Registry instantly and automatically. Once you’ve received a confirmation from us, the DMV should be able to pull your completion certificate from the Registry in real-time, but occasionally there may be a delay in their system. As your first step, please visit the TPR website to verify if your certificate is there. If it is, the problem is with the DMV or testing location. Here are some things you can do. Your local driver’s license authority will not accept your ELDT certification without the range or behind-the-wheel (BTW) part (unless you’re only applying for a Hazardous Materials endorsement), and your record will look incomplete or missing on the DMV side.
I already have my CDL permit and need ELDT certification. How can I get it?
For ELDT CDL Class A, we offer a 7-day ELDT-only course. For Class B, our shortest ELDT plan includes Pass Guarantee (even though you won’t need it) and is valid for 30 days. See the complete list of our ELDT courses here.
Will I need to pass a skills test at the DMV as well?
Yes, unless you’re only seeking a Hazardous Materials endorsement. As an official ELDT theory provider, we prepare you for the theory part. You’ll need to contact an ELDT behind-the-wheel provider to take practical classes for range and behind-the-wheel (BTW) ELDT training. To find a BTW provider in your area, please visit the FMCSA website and select “Behind-the-wheel” in the Training Type dropdown.

Can I log in to the website if I upgrade to Premium inside the app?
Unfortunately, your app Premium subscription only covers the app platform where you purchase it. It does not cover the website, or if you purchase on iOS, it does not automatically cover Android, and vice versa. The website and app premium programs have different pricing and feature sets, and we keep those separate.
Is the DMV Genie/CDL Genie app ELDT compliant?
Not currently. If you need ELDT certification, please use our website CDL Premium page.
How do I cancel my Premium app subscription?
If you purchased a recurring subscription on your iOS device, open the app, and go to Settings > Premium > Manage subscription. Tap on the subscription listed, and then tap Cancel Subscription. If you made a purchase in our Android app, open the app and tap the profile icon in the top right. Then, tap Payments & Subscriptions. Select the subscription you want to cancel. Tap Cancel Subscription.
My tests are still locked after purchasing Premium.
Please check if you’re using the most recent version of the app. You may have an update available in the App Store or Google Play. Also, try to reload the app by removing it from memory first. If that doesn’t help, delete and reinstall the app, and restore the purchase.
